Cush I Kushanti (born Timothy White)—professionally known as Kushanti T. White—is a multifaceted creative force whose artistry transcends genres and generations. A Grammy-nominated audio engineer, a Hip-Hop /Reggae/Afro-beat/Soul/ artist, singer-songwriter, poet, actor, and cultural ambassador, Kushanti embodies the essence of music as a vehicle for empowerment and transformation. his sound fuses the raw energy of classic Hip-Hop with the spiritual depth of Reggae, delivering messages of resilience, consciousness, and liberation. Drawing from the ancient Kush tradition and Ashanti heritage, he embodies the spirit of a “Warrior of Ancient Calm,” bridging cultures and generations through music and message.

Origins and Musical Vision

Raised in the vibrant cultural crucible of New York City, Kushanti discovered his voice early through poetry and lyricism, using music as a means to express inner truths and connect across diverse communities. His distinctive style fuses the grit and storytelling of 80s–90s Hip-Hop with the spiritual resonance of Roots Reggae, creating a dynamic sound within the modern Culture Reggae and World Music genres. This sonic blend serves as a bridge—uniting past and future, street and sanctuary—while delivering messages of resilience, consciousness, and upliftment.

Leadership and Collaborations

Beyond his artistry, Kushanti is a visionary entrepreneur and executive. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of BlakkAlpha Sound Productions & Publishing LLC, GreenCloudz Collective LLC, and SoundBendaz Itn’l LLC, as well as Vice President and Co-Chairman of Melodream Entertainment, Inc. His leadership has positioned him at the forefront of global music collaborations, working with acclaimed talents such as DJ Frass, Yvad, Stephen and Freddie McGregor (Big Ship Records), and the late Denroy Morgan, father of the iconic Morgan Heritage. These partnerships underscore his reputation for excellence, versatility, and cultural authenticity.

Artistic Highlights

Kushanti’s voice resonates with truth and conviction, commanding attention on stages like The Knitting Factory, Le Poisson Rouge, Best Buy Theater, and Sullivan Hall. His discography includes the 2014 EP From the Lineages of Cush, featuring the standout track “Early Rising”, and his contribution to the 2017 film Call Me King with the powerful anthem “I’m A King.” His artistry extends to the screen, co-starring as Cross in the 2022 digital action series “She’s Broken”  and earlier as a member of The Chosen, the 2009 Hip-Hop/Soul Reggaelutionary Band of the Year, appearing on their anthem “Survival” in solidarity with Haiti.
