 CUSH I KUSHANTI

Cush I (I am) Kushanti: -“Warrior of Ancient Calm”… defined by the man, rooted from the heritage of the birth cradle of the civilized ancient Ksh- {Kush/Cush} [koosh, kuhsh] tradition. Trodden generations forward, migrated through Alkebulan to the western horn; who’s creator’s and their lineages had been stolen from the lands of the Ashanti [uh-shan-tee/uh-shahn-tee] ancestors of Akan.

Born Timothy White, sanctified as Kushanti; professionally known as Kushanti T. White and more popularly known as Cush I Kushanti; the Entrepreneur, CEO/Co-Founder of BlakkAlpha Sound Productions & Publishing Llc. as well as Vice President and Co-Chairman of Melodream Entertainment, Inc.,. Grammy nominated and Billboard listed Audio Engineer, Singer/Song Writer, Actor, Poet, DJ/Rapper and Producer who has worked with elite artist of various genres. Some of these consisting of; international artist and producers, e.g. Yvad, Buju Banton, DJ Frass to even legendary artist like (The Captain) Freddie and son Steven McGregor of Big Ship Records to Denroy Morgan, father of renowned reggae band Morgan Heritage, are a few to mention. This Reggaelutionary entertainer has a voice that demands attention and whos music is filled with a message that permeates strength and makes audiences want more. Cush I Kushanti posseses such an enormous array of talent. Raised in the “Hardcore” of the Big Apple; at a young age Kushanti identified his skills for writing and storytelling. This coupled with a poetic gift of wordplay would establish a means of communication for this shy youth to penetrate the walls of urban music. During the 80s and 90s, the lifestyle and culture of Hip Hop coupled with the honor-rebel conscious mystical vibrations of Reggae music set the stage for this young artist to fortify his craft and develop a unique style that opened ears and raised eyebrows of audiences all over.

With a consistantly evolving vision such as revitalizing Man, Woman, and Child; with a sound of upliftment for the nation with consciousness and positive reinforcement through tales of Humility, Wise-mind, and Righteousness. Through his music, one can witness the direct reflection of his multicultural heritage, African/Caribbean roots, inner city up-bringing, life struggles, experiences, and musical talents which reflects and embodies the power of self-love, the love for one another and the freedom and liberation of the mind, body, and soul. Creatively attracting people from all walks of life to whom this experience is said to be authentic, radical, and energizing. Steadfast in this mission, Kushanti possesses a natural essence for performance and has graced various stages with his ancient presence. Connecting to various audiences and markets by way of “Culture Reggae /World Music”.  Performing at venues such as the Knitting Factory, Best Buy Theater, Crash Mansion, Sullivan Hall, Shrine Live Music Venue, Le’Poisson Rouge and Marriott Hotel. Cush I Kushanti also joined the ranks of the 2009 Hip Hop/Soul Reggaelutionary Bambu Band of the year, THE CHOSEN. He was featured on their smash single “Survival“. This song was the rallying cry in response to the devastating hurricane that hit the island of Haiti.

Consistently aiming to balance his love for the music and his craft as an artist with the conscious-mind & leadership of being a father, youth counselor and avocate; as well as the discipline of maintaining his professional duties as an industry exec. for BlakkAlpha Sound  Productions and Melodream Entertainment, Inc. With proven resilience and perseverance as a brand, Cush I Kushanti continues forward movement in film production and acting in conjuction with new productions of music and film. Single releases including, but not limited to such earlier works as in his 2014 EP/Mixtape titled, “From the Lineages of Cush” with it’s single, “EARLY RISING” featuring his 13 yr old niece Destiny, currently available on Kushanti’s music site @ CushIGradeMusic.com, as well as in all digital music stores.  In 2016 Cush I Kushanti teamed up with film Actor/Producer – Amin (Act) Joseph; Grammy-nominated Music Producer- Michael (Melodiq) Walker and Hip-Hop Artist- Chase Baker giving birth to the song title “I’m A King” produced by Melodiq, written & performed by Cush I Kushanti and Brooklyn’s own Chase Baker, featured in 2017 Blockbuster action film release: “CALL ME KING” (movie and sountrack available at all digital outlets). For Cush I Kushanti the journey is just beginning and his future endeavors are limitless. Cush I Kushanti continues to rock venues locally, nationally & internationally, coming to you live & directly via all African, Caribbean and World massive.
